5 STEPS TO PICKING THE RIGHT HOME THEATER INSTALLATION,PLASMA TV,LCD TV, AND HOME SECURITY COMPANY 

1.MAKE SURE THE COMPANY IS AN ACTUAL COMPANY-

This may seem obvious but you will be surprised at how many home theater installation companies out there are actually just individuals and not companies.This is particularly a problem when dealing with subcontractors. What happens is that a real company will get a contract with a large retailer. They get the contract but it includes areas they consider to far or in the "boondocks".

So they end up hiring an individual who may have little to no experience just because they are in that area.So if you live in a far out rural area be warned!

2.MAKE SURE THE COMPANY HAS LIABILITY INSURANCE-

This is also a no brainer but there are many installation companies and contractors who are out there doing installations without any liability insurance. A easy way to handle this problem is to make sure your installer who comes out has a copy of insurance with them. If they are a true professional this will not be a problem.

3.DO A BACKGROUND CHECK FOR ANY COMPLAINTS AND THE INSTALLER-

Doing a background check on a company is not anything new.You can check with the Better Business Bureau for complaints,but now with the internet you can take it a step further. There are now forums directly related to Home Theater,and Audio Video Installations that have sections for rogue companies. Use these! Also if you can find out your technician name and do a check on this individual as well. You never know who is coming to install your home theater system!

4.KNOW WHAT YOU WANT AND DO YOUR HOMEWORK-

Before hand it is a good idea to no what type of plasma tv installation you want and what this will entail.I am not saying take a class,but instead read some home theater forums,and get a sense of what you are going to need. Because although most companies are there to do a good job and leave.There will always be those guys who are looking to add extra charges to ignorant customers. Don't let this be you.Do your research first.Ask questions in the forums.

5.ASK FOR REFERENCES AND EXAMPLES OF RECENT WORK-

If a company is in the home theater,audio video,home automation,or home security business then they should have a history.Inquire about this history.At least they should have plenty of testimonials,and most of them should have a website.If they do not have a website then they should have photo after photo of jobs they have completed. They should be able to email you these photos with no problem. If not I would look else where.
